Cheshire is one of those places that works brilliantly for a short motorhome escape—from peaceful countryside touring to campsites with enough nearby to make the stay part of the holiday.
Why Cheshire works for a motorhome break
You can be pitched in open countryside, within reach of Chester, exploring village shops and family attractions, or simply enjoying a touring park where there is enough happening nearby to leave the motorhome set up.
These are not campsites we have collected from a directory. They are places we have actually visited and filmed for The Travelling Vocalist. Manor Wood gave us a countryside stay near Chester, while Blakemere showed how a touring park can work as a destination in its own right. The Durham Heifer added the character of a smaller certificated site.
Cheshire also connects naturally with North Wales. Our trip to The Plassey sits outside Cheshire, near Wrexham, but it makes sense as part of a wider cross-border touring route. That mix makes the county especially useful for short breaks: rural enough to feel like an escape, but well placed for family days out and a change of pace without a long drive between every stop.
As we visit more of Cheshire, we will keep adding genuine campsites, destinations and videos here—always based on where we actually stayed and what we experienced.

Cheshire countryside
Set among Cheshire farmland in Coddington, Manor Wood gave us a very different touring experience from the large holiday parks we have visited elsewhere. It suits a break with countryside around you while remaining within reach of Chester and the surrounding area.
Our vlog shows our own stay and tour. For current planning, the official site lists touring for caravans, motorhomes and tents, hardstanding super pitches, a heated shower block, seasonal outdoor pool, play areas, fishing, tennis, games room and a small shop.

Northwich, Cheshire
Blakemere is one of those places where the campsite is only part of the experience. Because the touring park sits beside Blakemere Village, we could leave the motorhome pitched and spend time around the nearby shops, activities, food and events.
The current official touring information lists medium and large hardstanding pitches for caravans, motorhomes and campervans, an amenities block, shop, games room and motorhome service point. That makes it a practical family option when you do not want to spend the whole weekend driving.

Broxton, Cheshire
The third vlog is The Durham Heifer at Broxton, identified from the video's own description and verified through the Camping and Caravanning Club. Our video is a review and tour of this small campsite near Chester.
The Club currently lists it as a certificated site with space for motorhomes, touring caravans and tents, along with grass and hardstanding pitch options, toilets and showers. Check the official listing before travelling because access to full booking details may require Club membership.

Our touring trips do not always stop neatly at county borders. The Plassey sits near Wrexham in North Wales and became part of one of our family touring adventures. We are including it as a nearby option for anyone building a Cheshire and North Wales route—not as a Cheshire campsite.
The Plassey's current official information describes 250 acres of park and woodland, touring pitches, an indoor swimming pool, golf, fishing, nature trails, family facilities and independent retail outlets.
